Power Sources convert electric current from an input source to the correct current, voltage, and frequency to power a specific load. Other functions that power sources may perform include limiting the current drawn by the load to safe levels, shutting off the current in the event of an electrical fault, power conditioning to prevent electronic noise or voltage surges on the input from reaching the load, and power-factor correction.

    Programmable Power Sources - Overview

    The N4A range of Programmable AC Power Sources offers complete flexibility for a wide range of applications. All N4A sources feature dual-channel arbitrary waveform generators utilising direct digital synthesis, providing the user with simultaneous multiple harmonic generations, frequency sweeping, and long sequencing capabilities. The metrology of the arbitrary generator permits long custom waveform sequences to be produced without a reduction in the resolution of each waveform. The N4A AC Source also features a 10-bit vertical resolution and a maximum waveform resolution of 16,384 points to produce a single periodic waveform. There is also an internal storage function for imported custom waveforms featuring user-intuitive library menus that display the waveform graphically on the display.

    The N4A AC power sources feature an extremely flexible waveform generator capable of mathematical waveform generation, data point waveform upload, and many sequencing functions. Traditionally, switching topologies have struggled to provide total harmonic distortion (THD) figures below 2%. The N4A “6-legged topology” provides less than 0.3% THD and typically 0.1%, the N4A range of AC Power Sources should be considered the best value power generator on the market. Ranging from the N4A06 6kVA model (300Vrms, 20A) to the N4A67 67kVA model (67kVA, 75A /phase) – the N4A will suit a wide range of applications including;
