WiFi Data Logger | RMS-Log-W

WiFi Data Logger | RMS-Log-W

WiFi Data Logger – Overview

This WiFi Data Logger is portable and has a large display. The WiFi interface makes it an ideal solution for various applications across different environments. It is available in two variants: for an external analogue temperature sensor (NTC) or for an external digital probe for humidity, temperature, differential pressure, and CO₂. Probes sold separately. It enables precise monitoring of refrigerators, incubators, cleanrooms, food and pharmaceutical manufacturing, warehouses, and HVAC systems. The WiFi Logger ensures secure data storage and transmission, and performs measurements at fixed intervals, compensating for data gaps using its internal memory and external power supply.

WiFi Data Logger – Features

  • Fail-safe, thanks to internal battery
  • WiFi Standard IEEE 802.11b/g/n
  • Compatible with RMS-App and RMS Cloud & on-premis
  • Conforms to FDA CFR 21 Part 11 / GAMP 5
  • Saves up to 44’000 pairs of measured values

Accuracy (Temperature)

Given by the digital probes

Adjustment

The adjustment function is a RMS-SW standard function and given by the digital probe. The logger does not measure, it forwards the communication to the digital probe during adjustment.

Battery

4 commercially available 1.5V AA batteries

Batteries are not supplied with the device

Recommended batteries: Energizer L91 AA Ultimate Lithium 1.5 Volt (3000mAh)

Data Logging

For each temperature measurement, the measured values are stored in the memory with the associated time stamp. At a measuring interval of one minute, data can be stored for one month, which corresponds to approx. 44,000 measurements. If the memory is full, the oldest values are overwritten.

Operational temperature range of the logger

-30…85°C

Storage temperature of the logger

-30…85°C

Data memory

44’000 measured values, including the time stamp

Measurement interval

RMS OnPremise: 10s, 30s, 1min … 60min

RMS Cloud: 1min … 60min

Digital interface

The device communicates completely via WiFi. The USB-C connection is only used for power supply and not for device communication.

WiFi

IEEE 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz)

Security: WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK

WiFi range

Freefield: 300m

Inhouse: up to 60m (depends strongly on walls and other barriers between the logger and the WiFi access point/router)

Protocoll

HTTPS

Software Compatibility

RMS and RMS-APP

Data volume per interval

Logger sends and receives about 300 bytes to/from the Server every interval

RTCC (Real Time Clock Calendar)

The device is equipped with a real-time clock. The time is continuously synchronised if there is a connection to the server.

Relative humidity

95%rh not condensing

Max. altitude

≤ 2000 m a.s.l.

Pollution degree

PD2

Cleaning

The device can be cleaned using a dry or damp cloth or by the use of commercially available soap-based cleaning products.

Repair

Rotronic does not recommend repairing a defective device. Please contact support to initiate a device replacement with a new device.

Adjustment

The measurement error between reference and UUT is acquired and corrected by an adjustment.

Possible are 1-, 2- or 3-point adjustment. It needs the use of the RMS-App.

1-point adjustment: Correction of the measurement as an offset over the complete measurement based on the measurement error between the reference and UUT.

2- or 3-point adjustment.
Measurement correction is based on proportional interpolation between two adjustment points if measurement is between two adjustment points.
Measurement correction is based on the next adjustment point (constant extrapolation) if the measurement point is out of the adjusted points.
