The PPA5500 adds increased voltage and current measurement ranges, greater processing power, increased memory, a real-time clock, high contrast visible colour display, 1GB non-volatile internal memory, external USB memory port, wide frequency range and exceptional noise rejection. A 2MS/s sample rate, alongside “True Real-Time” no gap analysis is a formidable combination for power analysis. The analogue front-end design includes the proprietary "Planar shunt technology". This instrument provides exceptional measurement stability and accuracy. The phase angle accuracy of the PPA5500 is 0.005 degrees which are perfect for transformer loss analysis testing at very low power factors.
